Zoe Paterson Macinnes is an award-winning filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist based in the Outer Hebrides. Zoe completed her BA Degree in Film from Edinburgh Napier University in 2018 and is currently studying for an MLitt Degree in Scottish Heritage from the University of Highlands and Islands.
Zoe’s work is a result of her island heritage. She combines personal observations of land and sea through film, paint and written words to explore themes of identity and belonging.
With over 10 years of experience in film; her film work has been screened internationally and for various exhibitions. Over the years, Zoe has created an archive of island cultural heritage work through films and interviews. Zoe’s artwork focuses on texture and movement in the land and seascapes; it is combined with her filmwork and poetry as a response to being in a place, through memory, a longing - or belonging.
